ASHRAE Miami Chapter is the local Chapter for ASHRAE
With more than 50,000 members from over 132 nations, ASHRAE is a diverse organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve humanity and promote a sustainable world. The ASHRAE Miami Chapter is part of Region XII. We have monthly meetings, usually the second Tuesday of the month. Miami Chapter History (a work in progress)
The Miami Chapter was formed as part of ASRE (American Society of Refrigeration Engineers). The December, 1955 Edition of ASRE News indicates that the initial organization meeting of the Miami Section was held on November 15, 1955. Jake Hendricks served as President for the first two years of the ASRE Chapter and Steve Sheldon later served as President of both the ASRE and ASHRAE Chapters in 1958/59.
